CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

​

Creative Movement

For ages 2-3 years old.  Through the use of games, stories, and songs, students will learn balance, rhythm, movement, coordination and basic dance steps.  

​

Mommy and Me

For ages 2-3 years old who aren't quite ready for mommy to leave.  Through the use of games, stories, and songs and dance this is a wonderful way to bond and have fun while introducing children to the joys of movement and music.

​

Pre K Combo

For ages 3-5 years old.  A combination class including ballet and tap technique. Students will learn basic rhythm and tap choreography, as well as an introduction to the foundations of ballet.  Dancers will typically be in a Pre K class for 2-3 years.

​

Kid Hip Hop

For ages 3-5 years old, fun, up-beat class introducing the basics of hip hop dance technique.  

​

Pre K Tumble

For ages 3-6 years old, students will learn basic fine motor and acrobatic progressions in creative and fun circuits.

 

Combo 1

For ages K - 2nd grade, combination class including ballet and tap technique. Students will learn basic rhythm and tap choreography, as well as the foundations of ballet.  Dancers will typically stay in a Combo class for 2-3 years.

Combo 2

For ages 1st-4th grade, introduction to ballet, tap and jazz.  A Combination class touching upon the basics of these three genres of dance.  This class is designed for dancers who have taken Combo 1 for several years or the older dancer who is just beginning.

​

Level 1 Classes

For ages 1st-4th grade, these classes focus on one genre of dance per class session.  For the dancer who has taken several years of combo class and is wanting to focus more seriously on technique.

​

Level 2,3,4 & 5 Classes

Instructors discretion as to level placement.  May change mid season based on skill level and development.  Many students will stay in the same level for up to 4 years at a time.

​

Musical Theatre
Music, song and dance; will focus on acting skills, stage movement, stage presence, and Broadway-style music and dance.  Levels 2-5 must be able to read.

​

Open Tricks

For level 2-5 dancers focusing on tricks and skills used in dance choreography.

​

Ariel Arts

Working with silks, lycra, hand balance, strength and flexibility. Not included in studio pricing. DBSA students will get a discount on class cost.
